ECW is a Church in the network of Wesleyan Methodist Churches around New Zealand, in partnership with each other for the purpose of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. We are affiliated locally with the Howick Christian Leaders Network. We are a covenant Church with Habitat for Humanity (the first Church in New Zealand to do so) and are active supporters of the Auckland Emmaus Community with many of our ECW family having experienced the blessings of The Walk to Emmaus retreats. ECW is a fully committed member of the New Zealand Christian Network.

We belong to the Body of Christ we call ‘Partnership’. Partnership involves a relationship among believers at ECW to pursue our God-given vision and values. As Paul says in Philippians 1: 5. “I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel….”. Partnership courses are run on a regular basis.

“People Growing through the Power of the Holy Spirit and Reaching others with the Good News of Jesus Christ”

  • Christ Centered
  • Bible Based
  • Holy Spirit Led
  • Vision Driven

Wesleyans believe in one God, who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the Saviour of all who put their faith in Him alone for eternal life. We believe that those who are made new in Christ are called to be holy in character and conduct, and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord’s Spirit. We believe in the Bible and its sufficiency to establish our faith and conduct. We believe God wills for people everywhere to know Him and be made new in Christ. We believe that the purpose of the Church is to worship God in spirit and in truth, and to reach a lost and fallen world with the gospel of Jesus Christ through its worship, witness, and loving deeds.
Worshiping in Spirit and in Truth | Making Disciples | Loving our Neighbours | Using our God-Given Gifts
We aspire to be a growing and influential church in the Wesleyan theological tradition in Auckland and to the nation. As a prominent church in the Wesleyan Methodist network of churches we are committed to assisting new church plants, being generous in mission and hosting our denomination’s National Resource Centre. Please continue to pray that God’s Spirit will bless, guide and protect our church as we serve the purposes of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
